Backstage - Chanel Spring/Summer 2012

Once again I had the great opportunity to work at the Chanel Spring/Summer 2012 show in Sydney's Fox Studios!
The show featured some superstar models such as Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Rachel Rutt, and the collection's underwater theme took my breath, and I was astonished at the attention to detail that was put into the garments and accessories to suit the oceanic theme.

Here are some of my best shots from backstage:

It was a wonderful experience and I'll post more backstage photos when I work at the Fall/Winter 2012 show!

Calvin Klein's Ready To Wear collection is, what you may say, "simply elegant". Elegance does not always mean flowing chiffon and shiny silk, and this collection emphasizes that, focusing on the atmosphere and feel of the clothing when on the wearer. The bright orange bursts out amongst the abundance of neutrals, and the material selection was clever - all garments having an earthy, modern look and texture.

Day 7 - New York Fashion Week

Oriental traditional prints and modern geometric emblazoning were seen throughout hew Fall Winter collection for Proenza Schouler, and to me goes hand in hand with the fashion industry's current trend of using beautiful and handsome Asian models in their runway shows. The intricate detail of the prints, along with the layering of thick neoprene like garments combine to create a collection which embodies the mysteries of Asian culture, both past and present.

Jeremy Scott is the fashion industry's King of Eccentrics, and this collection has no doubt proved that point once more. I choose to look at the garments individually and how they can fit into one's style, and there is no doubt some pieces can be statement street wear, such as the pink metallic jacket, the metallic tie dye dress, the men's shoes and the striped dress, all displayed above. Jeremy Scott can certainly bring a sense of fun and humour into one's wardrobe.

Day 6 - New York Fashion Week

Vera Wang FW12

This stunning collection has a highly magical, yet technological feel to it. The flowing fabrics are made more futuristic by the geometric prints and layering, creating a visage of women of the future. I commend Vera Wang for this wonderful and ethereal collection, I can't wait to see fashionistas around the world sporting these pieces!

The bold is truly beautiful for the upcoming Marc by Marc Jacobs collection, with an abundance of metallic and brights. Individual pieces from the ensembles throughout the show presented to the audience potential statement street wear, which is both aesthetically and technically beautiful.
